It's been a while since I last wrote to you, my love;
The days have passed and turned to months you see.
The hours of the day have never felt nearly enough;
How did I get this way? What has become of me?
Remember how we could talk endlessly, my love;
We would dream of taking a walk down by the sea.
Holding hands, just staring at the clouds above;
Lying in the sand, in our little world of fantasy.
I have been thinking a lot about you, my love;
My days would be empty without your memory.
It keeps me alive, how so I am quite unsure of,
But I've arrived at where it don't matter to me.
All I know is I've never been the same, my love;
Like a blind man who has once seen true beauty,
Now left to dream, a lonely diamond in the rough.
I'm losing steam, my engines burning out on me.
Where did you go? Will I ever find you, my love?
If so you know, I have never been as much happy;
Since you left, every push seems to turn to shove.
My heart bereft, seeking solace in your company.
So I thought of writing this letter to you, my love;
I have been fighting my demons to be set free,
But this world is cruel, more than any could bluff;
I pray that you are well, that you remember me.
It's been a while since I last wrote to you, my love;
I've gone many a mile just looking for sympathy.
It's been hard times, and it's been mighty tough;
I write this rhyme, so that you might find me.

Lovely poem, beautiful rhyming.
very nice, if someone gives a tune to it, it will make a very beautiful song, John Mayer in han sa vel bawk se. hehe
@Aduhi: Awww... thank you. It's one of my least personal surprisingly - I'd been listening to a lot of Bob Dylan, and loved the way he'd make two lines rhyme not just at the end but in between somewhere as well, so I thought I'd give it a go!
@Mimi: Thanks! Funny enough I've never put a tune to my blog posts... and I should really because my lyrics otherwise whilst writing a song are despicable! LOL John Mayer chuan lo perh se, nangma'n lo sa ta la :-D
You got rhyme :) Nice poem, very good ring to it till the end.
@Mizohican: My thanks! I try writing stuff that don't rhyme but it's this old habit I can't shake :-D I deeply envy your blog posts for that matter - consider me the creepy guy that checks out your updates in silence LOL
i lovee this poem :)
@Amelia: Thank you..! And thanks for stopping by again at this old, aging blog for my lack of updates :-) I probably won't write one like this again - following the same rhyme scheme, plus rhyming words mid-sentence as well as the last words was a real b**h I am not so eager to try again anytime soon!
